African American Hair?

My sister has hair that is stiff and stick up(even after she got a relaxer). So is there any thing she can do or use for her hair to make it lay flat.

It would also help if you tell why this happens ^___^African American Hair?
The coarseness at the roots is what will cause the hair to stick up, the ends are usually more damaged than the root causing the hair to be thicker and denser at the root causing lift (give it a feel, at the end and the root, you will see what im talking about) to get it to lay flat and be soft and movable the best way is to use a flat iron on it and get as close to the roots as you can with it and use a shine cream on the hair during...but even better if you have access and the skill to use hotcombs and the oven (You can buy an electric hotcomb but it doesnt get as hot as the oven)...just make sure you put enough curl wax on because relaxed hair is really sensitive and make sure you have the violet jelly on hand in case of a burn! Or just go to the salon and have a press done...also if you know how to do a wrap at home, it may be enough...but you will still be a little stiff with a wrapAfrican American Hair?
Take a little Let's Jam Hair Gel and smooth her hair down. It is not the traditional gel for African American hair. It feels like a mixture of gel and moisturizer lotion. The hair absorbs the gel and doesn't get hard.
gel. i would use gel or grease. or just let it stick up!! b proud.
Baby oil.
she should use an african american shampoo and then staraighten her hair with gel
