If you have fine wavy, straight ,wavy or thick hair and you put african american hair products in your hair in your hair will it ruin it will it dry it up. Im not planning on putting it in my hair i just wanted to know if its bad for your hair. Products like relaxers and deep conditioning
Thank youWhat will happen if i put african american hair products in my wavy hair?
A relaxer might be too strong for your hair, even a mild one. Our hair is usually thick so it takes more heat than other hair types to straighten (flat iron for example) and curl it (curling iron). It also takes a stronger chemical to permanently straighten it because of its thickness. This is compared to other hair types (caucasians/asian/hispanic, etc). I think a relaxer (a permanent chemical hair straightener) will ruin your hair and possibly make it fall out if it's too strong. It can make our hair fall out if it's not applied correctly. Even though it's very thick hair it's also the weakest of any hair type and can easily break off.
Blacks need extra moisture for their hair and they need to keep it well moisturized so it doesn't become too dry which could cause breakage. Many products for Afro-American hair texture is created with extra moisture/oils so this might be too heavy for your hair. Whether or not these products (shampoos/conditioners/leave-ins/deep conditioners/moiturizers/oils) will ruin your hair...I don't know. What will happen if i put african american hair products in my wavy hair?
I don't know what a relaxer would do to your hair, because I really don't know how those products work. When it comes to shampoos and conditioners that claim they are specially for african american hair, for the most part I highly suspect that there isn't actually a difference. Just like shampoo brands that have some for wavy hair, some for curly hair, some for sleek shiny straight hair or w/e they say. The shampoos are all like the same they just claim they are different to try to make more money because they know people will buy it. That's just what I suspect however, they might be slightly different.
Well deep conditioning doesn't ruin your hair. Everytime I go to get my hair trimmed they ask me if I want my hair deep conditioned. I have dry brown hair, and it's a mix between straight and wavy. It's not exactly thin but not close to being thick. It makes my hair really smooth =] Not exactly what else it dose but my hair stylist recommends it. Maye because i have ub3r dry hair. And I'm not sure what a relaxer does.
I tried it and it ruined my hair. I had to cut it all off.
yes it might ruin your hair, this products are meant for thicker types of hairs.
