How does Henna work on changing the color of black african american hair?

I want to dye my hair, but naturally. Ive heard about henna and seen the results from lighter colored hair to another color. I have not had my hair chemically stripped or anything for color, only perms...so i wanted to know if it would work or would it be a waste of moneyHow does Henna work on changing the color of black african american hair?
Because you've had perms, and I assume you want to have more in the future, henna (a vegetable dye with metallic salts) is not an option for you. It will destroy the bonds between the amino acids that make up the internal structure of your hair. This will make the hair turn into sticky goo mush. How does Henna work on changing the color of black african american hair?
The hair would essentially fall out, yes. You will still be able to grow more back, but you'll be practically bald. And I realize by perms you mean relaxers.

LOL ladies but yeah henna is a no go with a perm/relaxer even though some say you can do it Im not willing to risk it. I use it on my natural hair

no, i have dark brown hair, and when i put henna in my hair it just gives my hair a auburnish shine to it,

it does work with light hair though, but nothing really happens with dark hair, but it does make your hair healthier

and it doesnt stay it washes out

:)
it would probably be a waste of money unless you want a red cast(hue) to your hair. Hennas are vegetable based and only coats the hair with color, washes out easily
